How to apply for Pakistan Family Visa ?

Important Note: Each applicant must apply separately online for E-Visa irrespective of the age, even a child of one month should apply separately. E-Visa is issued only for one person.

Type of Application

You can apply for two types of visas online:

First Time (New) : You can apply for a new visa if you do not possess a valid Pakistan visa.

Extension: You can apply for a visa extension if you posses a valid Pakistan visa and you are currently residing in Pakistan.  Do not apply for extension if you are residing out of Pakistan.

Who Can Apply for Family Visa?

  • Foreign citizens of Pakistani origin and their spouses.
  • If your spouse is Afghan National or Afghan Origin, Click Here.
  • Who is Pakistani origin?
  • A person born in Pakistan and was a Pakistani citizen who later on obtained another country nationality through naturalization is called “Pakistani origin”. A person born abroad to Pakistani parents and have foreign nationality but can prove through his birth certificate that his parents are /were Pakistani is also a Pakistani origin. Presenting a copy of Old Pakistani passport, CNIC, NICOP, POC even expired is a valid proof of being a Pakistani origin. However, the particulars on Pakistani document and Foreign Passport must have the same data and information of the person.
  • A Foreign spouse of a Pakistani must be registered in NADRA System. If the wife is Pakistani and her husband is foreigner, the wife must have her husband name on her Pakistani Passport or CNIC or NICOP to be eligible for long term family visa.
  • If the husband is Pakistani and his wife is foreigner, his marriage must be registered in NADRA system and must provide a duly attested Family Registration Certificate (FRC) issued by NADRA to be eligible for family visa. How to get FRC – Click Here
  • A person born in Pakistan to foreign parents is neither Pakistani national nor Pakistani origin. For example, a person born to Afghan parents in Pakistan is not a Pakistani origin.
  • You may be eligible for a Pakistan Origin Card (POC), if you or your relative is of Pakistani origin. In that case you may not need a visa. Please click Here to check your eligibility for POC.

Documents Required:

  • Photograph
  • Passport
  • Familjbevis issued by the Swedish Tax Authority if you live in Sweden or Extract from the Population System of Finland if you live in Finland.
  • POC or likewise;
    • Marriage certificate duly registered in NADRA Pakistan and have Family Registration Certificate (FRC) issued by NADRA.
    • Birth Certificate duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan
    • CNIC/NICOP even if it is expired.
    • No Object Certificate (NoC) must be uploaded for children below the age of 18 years. The NoC must be properly filled in and signed by both parents having their contact phone number and copy of their Passport or ID card.  NoC is mandatory for children even if they are accompanied by the parents.   • You are required to upload proof of legal residence, in case you are not present in your home country (the country of your nationality) and are applying for visa from a third country, it is mandatory requirements. You can upload the documents in the supporting document type: Other
  • Important Note: if you cannot fulfill the requirements for long term Family Visa, just apply for short term Single Entry family visa (Short term family visa will require an invitation or sponsorship letter from your relative along with his/her clear copies of Pakistan ID card or Pakistan passport.   • In case of Extension – You should upload proof of Valid Pakistani Visa for which you are seeking Extension and the relevant page of your Passport having your Entry Stamp when you entered into Pakistan in the Supporting document type: Other
  • Important to Note: You can apply for extension of your visa while you are in Pakistan and having valid Pakistani Visa and should apply minimum 15 days before the expiry of your duration of stay.
  • It is also important to clarify that duration of visa and duration of stay are two different types. For instance, a person has a five year multiple entry visa starting from 01-01-2022 and valid upto 01-01-2027 and has duration of stay 90 days.  The person entered into Pakistan on the 01-01-2022 can stay only for 90 days from the date of entry into Pakistani. If the person wants to live beyond 90 days, then he/she must apply for extension of duration of stay. So do not be confused that your visa is still valid upto 01-01-2027 but you can stay with each entry into Pakistan upto maximum of 90 days if have you duration of 90 days stay. However, you can use your visa multiple times till the validity of your visa.

Do not upload following irrelevant documents:

  • Do not write Category of Passport as Official or Diplomatic, This is common mistake which most of the applicants make which lead to rejection of their visas. Always write category of passport “Ordinary”.
  • Do not upload driving license or any other irrelevant documents.
  • Do not upload any document which is in other language, only documents in English and Urdu languages are acceptable.
  • Do not upload Children pictures and passports copies if they are travelling with you, you must apply for each and every person separately irrespective of the age.
  • Do not upload fake and forge documents.
  • Do not apply if you have Travel Document or Alien Passport as Government of Pakistan does not issue visa on Travel Document and Alien Passport as a Policy.
  • Do not apply for Pakistan Online visa if you are holding Indian Passport. Foreign Spouse of a Pakistani having Indian nationality and holding Indian Passport cannot apply for Pakistan Online Long Term Visa. However, Indian Spouse of a Pakistani should contact the relevant Embassy/High Commission/Consulate of Pakistan for visa.

  • However, Indian origin spouse of a Pakistani holding Swedish/Finnish or any other third country passport can apply for Pakistan Online visa subject to fulfilling the above requirements.

Duration and Validity

First Time

  • Visa valid 1 to 5 years with a long term stay on each entry

Extension

  • Visa extendable to 5 years with up to 1 year stay on each entry

Important Note

  • Issuance of Visa is the prerogative of the Government of Pakistan and can be denied / refused on security ground or without assigning any reason!
  • Presentation of any fake or forged document may not only lead to rejection of your visa but may also blacklist the applicant for obtaining future visa for Pakistan.

Processing Time

  • 7-10 Days (Working Days – First Time Entry)
  • 7-10 Days (Working Days – Visa Extension)
  • 37 Days (Working days – First Time Entry/Visa Extension) (For Afghanistan Passport Holders and Afghan Origin who born in Afghanistan or one of their parents born in Afghanistan even if they have Swedish or Finnish or other country nationality) – The processing time for Afghan national and Afghan origin applicants (Afghan origin are those who born in Afghanistan or one of their parents is Afghan national or born in Afghanistan even if the applicant holds Swedish or Finnish Passport)  may take longer due to administrative process.

Important Note: If the Officer sends back the application to the applicant for Review asking for further supporting documents or final check, the deadline of processing time restart again from the date of re-submission of the application by the applicant.

Important Warning: The application will automatically stand cancelled if applicant does not re-submit his/her application within Seven (7) days from the date of receipt of application by email into NADRA account of the applicant.
