1. To apply For Extension of duration of stay in Pakistan, please make sure that you have a valid Pakistani Visa and currently residing in Pakistan as well. For example if you have a visa for the duration of 45 days stay and want to extend your stay longer than 45 days in Pakistan, you must apply for extension after 30 days of stay in Pakistan, that is, minimum 15 days before the expiry of your duration of stay. Afghan National or Afghan origins (Afghan origins are those who have born in Afghanistan or one of their parents born in Afghanistan, no matter if they have Swedish/Finnish or other country nationality or passport) can apply for further extension of 45 days visa online.
Important Note: In case your Visa is already expired and you have overstayed byound the authorised duration of stay in Pakistan and want to go back to you country of nationality from Pakistan. Then you must apply for Exit Permit. How to apply for Exit Permit, Click Here.
2. Important to note: Your duration of stay starts from the day of entry into Pakistan and not from the day of issuance of your visa. Many people are confused about it. For example, your visa is issued on 01-06-2022 and valid up to 01-09-2022 and duration of Stay is: 45 days. If you enter into Pakistan on 15-08-2022, your duration of stay in Pakistan will start from 15-08-2022 and you can stay in Pakistan up to 30-09-2022. If you want to extend your duration of stay you should apply online for extension of your stay on or before 15-09-2022 at least 15 days before the expiry of your visa.
3. Who can apply for extension of duration of stay of Visa:-
- If you already have a valid visa for the duration of stay and still residing in Pakistan;
- If yours current visa is still valid and you apply before the expiry of duration of stay. For example, if your current visa has the duration of stay 60 days, then you can apply for extension of visa after 45 days, minimum 15 days before the expiry of your stay;
4. Who cannot apply for extension of duration of stay of Visa:-
- If you are out of Pakistan then you must apply for new Entry Visa;
- If your visa is already expired/cancelled or your application for extension of visa is rejected and you are living in Pakistan then you should apply for Exit Permit.

Next in the Application Summary, you need to give reference of your visa which was granted to you and its reference number start from 8800 and consist of 11 digits which you can see on your Visa Grant Notice. Similarly, you should give your passport number and place of interview should be given the country from where your visa was granted. 13. Sometimes, the process of extension takes long and the applicant wants to leave Pakistan before receiving any decision about the extension of visa.
